Mid season.  1m  (‘Orange Marmalade’ x ‘Unique’)  Bright red buds open to rosy pink flowers with an orange throat. Wavy edged with delicate spotting.  Low growing, compact plant, glossy, dark green leaves.

Early mid season. 1.8m (fortunei ‘Mrs Butler’ x halopeanum) This variety tolerates both colder and warmer climates. Pale lilac flowers with a lemon eye. Slightly scented. Attractive foliage growing into a large tree in time.

Early mid season. 1.8m (‘Van Nes Sensation’ x decorum) This variety tolerates both colder and warmer climates. The soft blush pink florets have a lighter centre with a small lemon blotch in the throat. Fragrant, prolific flowerer. Tough, leathery leaves on upright, spreading growth habit. Fills a big gap!

Mid season. 1.5m (‘Lem’s Cameo’ x ‘Pink Petticoats’) Up to 34 lovely frilled flowers make up the very large compact truss. The colouring is shades of old rose and ivory. The foliage is characterised by long, thick stems proportionally large to support the huge trusses.

It starts as a burning orange deep in the throat, then widens and lightens into rays of golden yellow. Paler green foliage.

Mid season. 1.8m (griffithianum x maximum) This variety tolerates both colder and warmer climates. Probably one of the fastest growing and hardiest rhododendrons available. The foliage is dark green and the flowers are pale pink in the bud and fade to white on opening. Densely foliaged.

Early mid season.   1.8m  (nuttallii x ‘Lindal’)  This variety tolerates both colder and warmer climates. Huge white trumpets open from pink flushed buds.  Perfumed. Protect from frosts.

Late mid season. 1m (Probably dichroanthum hybrid) This variety tolerates both colder and warmer climates. This rhododendron tends to be low in growth habit with decumbent branches. The flowers have an apricot-orange centre with a deeper reddish-orange perimeter.

Mid season 1.2m  ([‘Azor’ x ‘Francis Hanger’] x ‘Lem’s Cameo’)  Creamy yellow, flushed pink wavy edged florets in rounded truss.  Good foliage.
